Our Story

CRED was founded in May 2011 as a non-profit, research and advocacy organization. The founders had a desire to establish a credible and vibrant Civil society organization that promotes democratization of the decision-making processes and ensures that policies in the realm of environment and development deliver tangible benefits to the people, especially the poor and marginalized sections of society. CRED is founded on the belief that Uganda’s problems should primarily be the concern of Ugandans but they must be empowered and supported to exercise their potential. CRED works with the citizens and leaders to make a meaningful contribution to the development process.
