The world today faces a climate risk. Over the recent years, climate change has evolved into a dire and imminent global and local crisis. With the Earth’s average temperature steadily rising, the impacts are apparent: we have already witnessed the increasing severity of natural disasters, prolonged drought, incessant flooding, loss of species, and loss of human life. This is why immediate climate intervention is not just a priority, but an essential requirement for human survival, including but not limited to enhancing the capacity of communities most at risk to cope with the impacts.
